Since 1999, The Actors Conservatory Theatre has inspired children across North Texas to grow in their love of the performing arts, all while consistently providing audiences with high-quality, community-based children's theatre. Through many seasons, our mission has always remained the same: To foster the education of great classic literature for the young and young at heart, through a dedication to outstanding, all-inclusive, family-oriented theatre, right here in our own community.

Welcome to The ACT!

The Odyssey

The Odyssey is the story not only of Odysseus's journey home from the Trojan War, but also of his son Telemachus's path to find out who he truly is. As Odysseus encounters the one-eyed Cyclops, Telemachus struggles to keep their home safe from greedy suitors. As Odysseus battles raging seas and the sly Circe, Telemachus himself sets sail to find his father. And on their parallel journeys, Odysseus and Telemachus encounter monsters and seas so treacherous that they are challenged to their limits.      Students in this laboratory-style play class will use this creative script by R.N. Sandberg to learn about all aspects of putting together a show. They will take on every role, both on-stage and off, learning acting, voice, articulation, movement, and stage presence, all in the context of learning lines, playing roles, and preparing costumes, props, and sets for performance. The last class will end in a show for friends and family!
