The Actors Conservatory Element (ACE) is a group of teens who are passionate about the performing arts and who wish to grow as both actors and as technical crew members. Youth ages 12 to 18 who are interested in learning more about theatre are invited to join ACE by participating in any or all of our teen programs during the school year.

Field Trips

ACE plans at least one theatre-related field trip each semester.  In the past, we have attended improv shows, Scarborough Renaissance Faire, Broadway tours of Beauty and the Beast and The Little Mermaid at the Bass Performance Hall, and An American in Paris at Fair Park Music Hall.

This year, our field trip will be to a performance of Finding Neverland at the Bass Performance Hall in Fort Worth!

Texas Non-Profit Theatres Youth Conference

The 2018 conference will be in Irving, Texas from June 12-17!

Each June, ACE sends a group of teens to the Texas Non-Profit Theatres Youth Conference to learn more about all aspects of theatre.  A four-day event organized exclusively for youth, participants attend improv classes, 6 theatre classes for their age group, shows performed by participating theatres across Texas (including The ACT), and nightly socials with other young people who share a mutual love of theatre.

Conference attendance is open to any ACE member! However, some of our TNT attendees also perform a 40-minute play or musical at the conference. The title for the 2018 TNT show will be the play entitled The Importance of Being Earnest (one-act based on the full-length play by Oscar Wilde). It will be directed by Alex Bigus and will also have performances at The ACT prior to the conference.

Save the Date!

Performances at The ACT on Friday, June 1 and Sunday, June 3, 2018

The cost for the conference varies according to the location, but ranges from $300 - $350, which includes an $80 registration fee per attendee, hotels, gas for transportation to the conference and back, and most meals.  Interested teens are given many opportunities to do fundraising at the ACT throughout the entire year in order to lessen their costs. Each teen who wishes to reduce their cost for the trip must earn 12 fundraising credits during the season to receive a full portion of fundraising, or at least 6 fundraising credits during the season to receive a half portion. Fundraising opportunities for the TNT conference are year-round. Register for ACE and start receiving TNT Conference Fundraising emails!

June 8-11, 2017 (Baytown, Texas)
