Since 1999, The Actors Conservatory Theatre has inspired children across North Texas to grow in their love of the performing arts, all while consistently providing audiences with high-quality, community-based children's theatre. Through many seasons, our mission has always remained the same: To foster the education of great classic literature for the young and young at heart, through a dedication to outstanding, all-inclusive, family-oriented theatre, right here in our own community.

Welcome to The ACT!

Actors Conservatory Element - Teen Theatre

Actors Conservatory Element - Teen Theatre

The Actors Conservatory Element (ACE) is a group of teens who are passionate about the performing arts and who wish to grow as both actors and as technical crew members. Youth ages 12 to 18 who are interested in learning more about theatre are invited to join ACE by participating in any or all of our teen programs during the school year.

As a young and growing group, our activities and events for ACE continue to expand every season. Here are some of our favorites so far:

Texas Non-Profit Theatres Youth Conference

This year's conference will be in Baytown, Texas!

Approximate dates: Tuesday, June 6, 2017 - Sunday, June 11, 2017

Each June, ACE sends a group of teens to the Texas Non-Profit Theatres Youth Conference to learn more about all aspects of theatre.  A four-day event organized exclusively for youth, participants attend improv classes, 6 theatre classes for their age group, shows performed by participating theatres across Texas, and nightly socials with other young people who share a mutual love of theatre.

The cost for the conference varies according to the location, but ranges from $285 - $385, which includes a $75 registration fee per attendee, hotels, gas for transportation to the conference and back, and most meals.  Interested teens are given many opportunities to do fundraising at the ACT throughout the entire year in order to lessen their costs. Each teen who wishes to reduce their cost for the trip must earn 12 fundraising credits during the season to receive a full portion of fundraising, or at least 6 fundraising credits during the season to receive a half-portion.

Some of our TNT attendees may also perform a 40-minute play at the conference.  If this is part of the conference experience for our ACT participants, auditions for acting and crew positions will be announced to all registered ACE members.  However, conference attendance is open to any ACE member, regardless of involvement in the show.

We hope to see you at one of our ACE teen events!
