Since 1999, The Actors Conservatory Theatre has inspired children across North Texas to grow in their love of the performing arts, all while consistently providing audiences with high-quality, community-based children's theatre. Through many seasons, our mission has always remained the same: To foster the education of great classic literature for the young and young at heart, through a dedication to outstanding, all-inclusive, family-oriented theatre, right here in our own community.

For young actors who are new or still getting used to being on the stage, this 7-week class on auditions and movement is for them! They will learn how to choose audition materials, how to interpret what is asked for in an audition, and how to properly prepare themselves before they walk into the room. They will also learn how to introduce themselves to the casting team and how to behave in the audition room. Students will practice auditioning for the class and receive feedback from the teacher and other students, from whom they will also learn from as they observe one another. Auditions are an actor's only chance at a first impression, so it is important to grow these skills! Actors will also learn the basics of movement for theatre in this class, such as how to warm-up their bodies, how to relax their nerves, and how to prepare themselves physically to become characters on stage. Students will do exercises and play games that are designed to create physical awareness and a connection between their minds and their bodies. Becoming more comfortable and aware of body movement and positioning is key to succeeding on stage!
