Since 1999, The Actors Conservatory Theatre has inspired children across North Texas to grow in their love of the performing arts, all while consistently providing audiences with high-quality, community-based children's theatre. Through many seasons, our mission has always remained the same: To foster the education of great classic literature for the young and young at heart, through a dedication to outstanding, all-inclusive, family-oriented theatre, right here in our own community.

Jeff Weaver - Instructor In theatre, the lighting designer is responsible for the design, installation, and operation of the lighting and special electrical effects that used in the production.  It is also an art form in its own right, as it is the lighting that should pull all the elements present on the stage together, in the manner that is consistent with the overall artistic vision for the show.   In this beginner’s class designed for teens and mature middle school students, the basics of lighting design and lighting tech will be taught. Students will learn about the different types of light, lighting terminology, and the technical logistics of the system, as well as receive basic training in how to run the system. They will also learn how to communicate with directors and stage managers, including how to create a light cue sheet. Students who complete the course may also be given the opportunity to work on light design for one of our Academy shows this spring. The basics of sound tech for our theatre will also be taught in this course.
