Since 1999, The Actors Conservatory Theatre has inspired children across North Texas to grow in their love of the performing arts, all while consistently providing audiences with high-quality, community-based children's theatre. Through many seasons, our mission has always remained the same: To foster the education of great classic literature for the young and young at heart, through a dedication to outstanding, all-inclusive, family-oriented theatre, right here in our own community.

Interested in directing or teaching theatre arts in the future? Ready to work on your acting skills in a small and focused environment that is designed for teens only? In this class, actors and aspiring student directors will learn the basics of how to bring an artistic vision to life on stage. Directing theories and artistic tools will be taught, along with explorations into the creative process and how to effectively collaborate with a creative team. With guidance from the instructor, students will then choose their own scenes to direct from a variety of plays, musicals, and sketches, depending on their own interests. All students will also act in scenes directed by the other students in the class, as well as scenes directed by the instructor. Students will all receive time to work on the stage in directing their scenes. Mentoring from the instructor and a group laboratory environment will provide a solid framework and teach a set of tools through which all may learn how transform their creative VISION into an actual PRODUCTion. Class size will be limited to a maximum of 10 students. Students will showcase their work in a final performance for friends and family to enjoy!
