Since 1999, The Actors Conservatory Theatre has inspired children across North Texas to grow in their love of the performing arts, all while consistently providing audiences with high-quality, community-based children's theatre. Through many seasons, our mission has always remained the same: To foster the education of great classic literature for the young and young at heart, through a dedication to outstanding, all-inclusive, family-oriented theatre, right here in our own community.

Welcome to The ACT!

TNT 2017 - Seussical KIDS

TNT 2017 - Seussical KIDS

Horton the Elephant, the Cat in the Hat, and all of your favorite Dr. Seuss characters spring to life onstage in Seussical KIDS, a fantastical musical extravaganza from Tony-winners Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty.

Transporting audiences from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus, the Cat in the Hat tells the story of Horton the Elephant, who discovers tiny people called the Whos floating through the air on a dust speck, and Jojo, a Who child who talks to Horton and gets in trouble for thinking too many "thinks." Horton's challenge is twofold – not only must he protect the Whos from a world of doubters and dangers, but he must also guard an abandoned egg that has been left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. In this powerful story of friendship, loyalty, family, and community, Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping, and a trial, but never loses hope or gives up on the either the Whos or the egg he has sworn to protect. With the help of the loyal and loving Gertrude McFuzz, Horton ultimately emerges triumphant, saving the day through his faithfulfulness and courage.

Each June, ACE sends a group of teens to the Texas Non-Profit Theatres Youth Conference to learn more about all aspects of theatre.  A four-day event organized exclusively for youth, participants attend improv classes, 6 theatre classes for their age group, shows performed by participating theatres across Texas, and nightly socials with other young people who share a mutual love of theatre.

This year's conference was in Baytown, Texas and our ACE teens were invited to perform as one of the participating Texas youth theatres! This talented group traveled to Baytown between June 6 - June 11 and performed Seussical KIDS, directed by Jack Bledsoe and music directed by Amy Coates, for the other conference attendees.
