ABOUT THE CAMP
Campers will put on an entire short musical in just two weeks. Camp days will include staging, choreography, music, and loads of fun. Camp tuition includes costume pieces (campers will need to provide some costume items such as shoes and base costume items under their clothes), hours of instruction, and a camp t-shirt. Come spend your summer dancing and singing with friends at The Actors Conservatory Theatre!
ABOUT THE SHOW
It’s a brand new year at the Whoover Academy and for the Whoover Drama Club! But for Rudy Grunch, a grumpy 6th grader, the beginning of the year brings with it a dread of the annual school musical. To stop the musical from going forward, Grunch suddenly devises the perfect plan to ruin the theatre program permanently: he’ll join the musical, invite a New York Times critic to review the show, then steal all the sets, costumes and props the night before, ensuring they get the worst review ever!
Two weeks into rehearsal, the Whoover Drama Group and the Junior Stars, the smallest members of the Whoover Drama Group, are busy working on their musical, when Principal Augustus enters to announce that every major theatre critic will be coming to see their show. Whoover Drama Club explodes in excitement, thanking Grunch for inviting them. Grunch, however, vows to continue with his plan. The night before the show, the Whoover Drama Group gathers for one last rehearsal, proud of what they’ve accomplished. But as soon as they exit, Grunch and Mills sneak in and steal all the sets, costumes and props! What will happen next? Will the Whoover Drama Club be doomed forever, or is there more to the magic of the theatre than all of its parts?
